The Story
The name DeGenito is Italian for genesis. It is my grandmother's last name, and it felt right for what we are building here. A new beginning for how contractors and home service businesses get found online.
I have spent over 20 years as a software engineer building CRM systems and automation platforms for financial services companies. Debt settlement firms, credit counseling agencies, businesses where every lead matters and every marketing dollar gets scrutinized.
One pattern was consistent across every company I worked with. Leads and marketing were always the biggest expense. Payroll was second. Lead brokers would cut quality while charging premiums and make promises they had no intention of keeping. I built reporting and accountability systems specifically to detect when lead quality dropped so we could cut bad vendors and move on.
Then a client changed everything.
The Breaking Point
My last client runs an impact windows and doors company in South Florida. Forty employees. Twenty-five million a year in revenue. They were spending $30,000 to $50,000 per month on Google Ads, plus 20% of that ad spend going to their marketing agency. That agency was supposed to be managing everything.
What they actually delivered was a horrible website, poor ad management, and zero keyword maintenance despite promising it. No measurable improvements. They were lighting money on fire.
